About The Method
Thomasville

You’ve heard it before: “Progress, not perfection.” Here at The Method Rehab and Wellness in Thomasville, GA, we start each treatment and class with an intention. It’s a way to take small steps towards the personal goals we set for ourselves.

Over time, these small goals and daily intentions become The Method by which we live. Think of us as your guides and movement experts. We deliver a mindful movement approach to improve function, reduce pain, and promote overall physical wellbeing to enhance daily living.

The Method is a physical therapy and wellness clinic that specializes in the continuum of care. We believe that your first step in wellness starts with intentional movement and goal setting. And we are here to help you along the way, whether through skilled physical therapy, private Pilates, or group barre classes.

Because we are an outpatient physical therapy clinic, we treat all musculoskeletal injuries and disorders. At The Method, we specialize in neuro rehab, geriatric care, Pilates-based
rehab, Women’s health, Parkinson’s Disease, balance/fall Recovery, joint replacement recovery, and low back/neck pain management.

Meet The Founder

Christina Maher, PT, DPT

The Method founder, Christina Maher, is a dancer turned physical therapist and pilates instructor. Physical therapy came to Christina as a second career. Her first love — dance. It was during her tenure at a performing arts high school that her interest in injury prevention, therapeutic yoga and Pilates, and movement behavior and patterns sparked her change of career to physical therapy.

She attributes her unique approach to therapy and her rehab success rate to her personal experience as a dancer and dance teacher.

Prior to opening The Method in 2020, Christina worked in the traditional outpatient physical therapy setting as well as inpatient rehabilitation in Savannah, GA, where she and her husband were living before moving to Thomasville, GA.

Christina is married to Patrick Maher, and they have two young daughters.

Christina received a Doctorate of Physical Therapy, Master of Arts in Dance Education, and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Dance. She is a classically trained Pilates instructor, a certified Yoga Instructor through Yoga Alliance and a nationally certified ballet instructor through American Ballet Theatre’s Training Curriculum. She joyfully uses her movement expertise, therapeutic yoga, and Pilates training to guide her unique treatment approach.

Christina specializes in Pilates-based rehab, neurological disorders, women’s health, dance medicine, and post-operative care.

Meet Our Team

Rachel Arnold

Rachel Arnold is an Atlanta native who has fallen in love with the charm of our small town. She found barre at a time where she needed something different than high intensity workouts and has enjoyed getting everything out on the mat & bar. She has a loud laugh and is super proud of her crows feet. She loves to get lost in a novel & adores a nice cold glass of bubbly! She lives with her darling husband, Jason and together they have a dapper, friendly English Cocker named Fitz.

Rachel teaches The Classic: Barre, The Reform: Pilates Apparatus and The Express: Mat Pilates.

Lane Beatty

Lane Beatty is a barre veteran, having taken over 600 barre classes at various studios in Birmingham and Nashville before returning to Thomasville last July.

As a marriage and family therapist, Lane knows how important self care is for women, and that’s what barre is to Lane. She loves getting on the mic, encouraging other women to refuel, recharge and get stronger mentally and physically!

Lane is our wonderful substitute on the mic, when we need her!

Lindsey Cone

Lindsey Cone hails from Macon and made Thomasville home through her husband, Josh. She is an occupational therapist who has a passion for helping others. As a lover of exercise, she fell in love with barre while looking for a challenging lower impact exercise routine postpartum. When she is not in the studio you can find her playing MahJong with her friends, curled up with a good book, or whipping up something fresh and delicious in the kitchen. She and Josh have 2 adorable girls, another on the way and a regal Great Dane named Pearl.

Lindsey teaches The Classic: Barre and The Reform: Pilates Apparatus.

Anna Carroll Gregory

Together they moved to Thomasville to start their business Empire Bagel & Delicatessen. AC is also a busy mom to two little girls, Vivie and Teddy. She started taking Barre to prioritize her health and relieve stress.

AC loves her role as a Method Barre instructor because barre has become much more than just a fitness class. The Method has offered a community to cultivate friendships and focus on getting grounded and stronger every session.

I’m so excited to continue my education in The Barre Method and give others the same outlet I’ve come to love so much!
